I’ll be speaking at LibrePlanet 2024!
The Free Software Foundation announced my keynote presentation last week: https://www.fsf.org/news/libreplanet-2024-cultivating-community-will-feature-a-keynote-by-david-wilson
Registration for the conference is now open: https://www.fsf.org/blogs/community/register-to-be-part-of-libreplanet-2024-cultivating-community
I’ll try to have a System Crafters meetup there, so consider joining!
The Autumn Lisp Game Jam starts today!
I’ll be participating by writing a simple game with Guile Hoot, the Scheme -> WebAssembly toolchain we discussed last week.
I’ll also be live-streaming my work on it over the next week on my other channel Flux Harmonic:
I’ll stream most days between 3-5PM Athens time, check the following link to see the time in your local time zone:
Crafted Emacs v2 is releasing today!
¶What’s the big deal about Hyperbole?
You’ve probably heard people talking about GNU Hyperbole more than once on various Emacs forums. I think we’ve even looked at it briefly on this channel a couple of times but I could never really grasp the true value of it.
Today we’re going to try and get to the bottom of what makes people love this package! Maybe we’ll learn a few things that might be useful for our workflow crafting tasks.
What we’ll investigate:
- Smart Keys
- Buttons of all different types
- Koutliner: an Org Mode alternative?
- HyControl: window management
- HyRolo: information management
